Do you understand your teens?

If your answer is yes, please tell me your secret! I have gone around and around with my kids trying to figure out what makes them tick. There are times I can’t believe what actually comes out of their mouths. While we may not understand our kids, the reality is they probably don’t understand us very well either. That’s why it’s important to talk, but don’t preach at them. That hardly ever works. Make sure you have meals together. Play games. Horse around. Do something crazy, but do it with your teen who has become this stranger in your house. This phase of life is hard, but God uses it in you and your teens’ lives. “Behold, children are a gift of the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward” (Psalm 127:3 NASB).
